Our bedroom has been through a lot of transformations since we moved in two years ago. When Country Living Magazine approached us to shoot our home for their May 2015 issue, we had just moved into our home two months before. Our goal was to slowly add pieces we loved, but didn’t have much furniture in our bedroom. So with two weeks notice, we scrambled and threw together our bedroom. It turned out beautifully, but just wasn’t us.

So we decided to start from scratch again. I really did love most of the pieces, but as a whole it didn’t feel right.
We have no windows in our bedroom, only in the adjoining bathroom so it is very dark (not that you can tell in the above photos…the joys of a magazine shoot!) My goal was to have a space that would let us unwind and not be stressed. The vision was a non cluttered, simple room.
We partnered with Smart Bedding and I was so excited to try their linen bedding. And guess what??? the duvet cover God’s opened the heavens and the King duvet actually fits our King bed! Can you believe it?! I love the way duvets look, but I have never found one that actually fits the bed. So it was a pleasant surprise when we laid it on the bed and it actually covered the whole mattress.
I don’t know about you , but every night my husband and I have a battle in our sleep over the covers. I tend to be the one who steals all the covers and then he is left with no sheet. The geniuses behind Smart Bedding created a unique deign where the top sheet snaps to the duvet cover… no more fighting or loosing the top sheet! Genius I tell you!

And before you judge… I live with 4 boys and I made a deal with the hubby that our bedroom could have a little pink in it- although I don’t think he quite knew what he was getting into by allowing a “little” pink. Sorry babe!

I love the clean look of the linen mixed with the vintage pillows I have collected.

The only problem now is that I never want to leave my bed.
