This week my kids and I are spending some time at my parents house in Spokane. Needless to say we are having way too much fun. Yesterday we made a trip to the Goodwill, its a place we always have to go, they always have some great treasures. While there I found this great jar with a wood lid. I decided it needed a fun, bright color for spring. So with a little paint and distressing, it has a fresh new look. I used the same techniques that I used a few weeks ago on the cloche.
I have one more fun little project I wanted to share with you. Today I went to MOPS (Moms of Preschoolers) with my mom. She is a teacher in one of the kids classes, and I attend a MOPS group at Scottsdale Bible so I thought it might be fun to visit a different group. Well today they were making this awesome terrarium! It was really simple, you need a jar, tiny amount of sand, soil, plant, and decorative stuff. The decorative stuff is optional but can add some fun touches of color. We used some moss, sticks or rocks. All you have to do is put a small amount of sand in the bottom the jar, then add the soil and a few small plants. I then added a rock and some moss, totally optional though. Super simple, but so cute. And what a great verse that we tied around the jars as a reminder of God’s creation every time we look at it, and its a favorite verse of Junk in the Trunk!!! So perfect!
I was thinking when I got home that the jar I painted up top would also make a super cute terrarium, don’t you think!
Here are a couple other super cute ideas to bring some green into the house, using some creative and out of the ordinary planters. I particularly love the tea cups and the tool box! I think I will be planting more of these when I get home!
